Jingle Ball Concert 2015

Today is December 14, 2015, it is also a Monday, but not just any Monday….Jingle Ball 2015 Monday!!!!!! After school, I went to a Jingle Ball Concert at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. I was super duper excited to see the concert with my sister Suzy, her two friends Emily, Sophie, and my brother Andy. We drove through lots of traffic, it was quite a distance to get there. It didn’t feel long at all because my heart was thriving. My parents dropped us off on 7th Avenue, near the Verizon Center where there were lots of different restaurants to choose from. We had enough time to have a relaxing dinner. None of us wanted to wait any longer. So we choose to eat something quick. We went to Shake Shack Burger which was amazing!!
We got to the Verizon Center. It was huge, I mean really, really BIG! We were looking for our seats. I realized that we kept walking further and further down closer to the stage and made me really pumped up. We were basically 100 feet away from the stage.(possibly more, but that is what it felt like) 5 Seconds of Summer came on the stage and started to sing “Amnesia”. Finally, the concert started. When Demi started to sing it blew everyone away. Everyone was out of their seats jumping up and down. She was such a great singer. My two favorite singers were Zedd and Shawn Mendes. I couldn’t believe that I was sitting eye level to them. Everyone was cheering loud and sang along with them. I heard so many unique voices and groups performing like Zedd, Tove Lo, Shawn Mendes, Demi Lovato, Charlie Puth, 5 Seconds of Summer, Alessia Cara, Hailee Steinfeld, Natalie La Rose, and R. City. All these great and amazing singers were there today and I had a really good time!!! I hope to go back and have an experience just as good as the one I had today!!!!
We got home at 11:30 and now having to do my homework. It is now 12:17 and I am done for the day. I am going to sleep and hope to see them there too!

An Open Letter to Volleyball

Dear Volleyball,

You found your way to my friend and convinced her to play. She then asked me if I wanted to play with her.

When I first touched your soft white leather I knew that this would be a sport that I would stick with for a long time. I have played so many other sports and I have loved them too, but you have taken my heart. I’m now in my second season with you and I already know that I don’t want to let you go.

Volleyball, I adore that your sport is a team sport. I like that we learn how to work together. You have helped me and others to bond in a different ways. I am working hard to improve in your game. Sometimes you find a way to run a different direction, but I will try my best to get you straight over the net as much as possible , because I miss 100% of the serves I don’t take.

With lots of love,

   Jamie Pak
